Freight Loss or Damage in Transit

Inspect your shipment before signing for delivery.

Signing the Bill of Lading

A signed Bill of Lading is our receipt from a carrier that our shipment to you was complete and in good condition. Before you sign the Bill of Lading please check the shipment carefully to make sure there is no damage or shortages. Any damage or shortages should be noted on the freight Bill of Lading before signing.

Once the shipment leaves our facility, we are no longer responsible for any damage, loss, or shortage.

Important: Inspect Shipment Before Signing for Delivery

The consignee (customer) is responsible for inspecting all freight at the time of delivery.

Visible Damage or Shortage

Any damage, missing packages, torn or crushed packaging, punctures, broken skids, shifted loads or other irregularities must be specifically noted on the carrier's delivery receipt / Bill of Lading before signing.

Do not simply write "damaged", describe the condition and affected items wherever possible.

Photographs

Before unpacking or disposing of packaging, photograph:

  1. The complete shipment as received (before removing packaging / wrapping);
  2. All damaged packaging, skids, cartons or wrapping;
  3. The damaged product (after unwrapping); and
  4. Carrier / pro number and shipping labels where applicable.

Concealed Damage

Damage discovered after unpacking must be reported to Seller immediately and preferably within 48 hours of delivery. Retain all product, packaging and shipping materials until advised otherwise.

Reporting a Claim

Send freight damage notifications to claims@tierceltechnology.com and include:

  • The order / invoice number
  • Photographs of the shipment, packaging and product
  • A description of the damage or shortage
  • The quantity affected
  • Any and all available delivery documentation

Do Not Dispose of Damaged Goods or Packaging

Do not dispose of damaged goods or packaging until the freight claim has been resolved or authorization has been provided.
