Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Who We Are
JGW Machine Limited ("JGW Machine," "we," "our," or "us") is a Canadian contract manufacturing company located at 259 Third Concession Road, Princeton, Ontario, N0J 1V0, Canada. We are a division of Tiercel Technology Corp.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, where it is processed, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We apply the rules of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) to the personal information we collect through this website and, for people in Quebec, those of Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.
Our Privacy Officer is the person in charge of protecting personal information at JGW Machine and is accountable for this policy. You can reach them using the details under "Contact Us" at the end of this policy, and you can ask us for the name of the person who currently holds that role.
In short:
- We collect what you type into our quote request or job application form (and your résumé), plus basic technical information that every browser sends.
- We use it to answer your request or application and to protect our forms from spam. If you accept cookies, we also use Google tools that recognize your browser to measure our website and our advertising.
- The companies that run our website and email for us receive it; they are listed in section 10. Google receives technical information when our web fonts load, and more if you accept its cookies.
- It is processed mainly in the United States and, for email delivery, in the European Union (section 11).
- Quote requests and job applications are deleted from our website automatically 12 months after we receive them (section 12).
- Analytics and Marketing cookies stay off until you turn them on, and you can change your choice at any time in Cookie Settings. We keep a record of each choice you make, accepted or declined, for 12 months as proof (section 4).
2. Information You Give Us
Contact and quote request form
When you send us a request through our contact form, we collect:
- Your full name (required)
- Your company name (optional)
- Your email address (required)
- Your phone number (optional)
- The service you are interested in, chosen from a list
- The project details you write in your message (required)
We use this information to respond to your inquiry, to prepare and follow up on a quote, and to keep a record of quotes we have issued. Your request is stored in our website's administration system, which can only be opened by signing in with a password (see section 10 for who has an account). The website also emails your request, including everything you typed, to the people who handle inquiries for us. Please do not include sensitive personal information, such as health or financial details, in your message.
Job applications
When you apply through our careers page, we collect:
- Your full name, email address and phone number (required)
- The position you are applying for (required) and, if you choose to give it, your years of experience
- Your message or cover note (required)
- Your résumé, as a PDF or Word document (required)
- Your agreement that we may store your application and résumé to review it and consider you for other openings, for up to 12 months, as described in this policy (required)
We use this information only to assess your application, contact you about it, and consider you for other openings that fit your experience. Your application is stored in our website's password-protected administration system, and your résumé is kept in private file storage that has no public web address: it can only be opened by someone signed in to that system. The website emails the people who handle hiring that a new application has arrived, with your name, contact details, the position, your years of experience and your message; the email does not include your résumé. We do not sell applications, and we share them outside JGW Machine only with the service providers described in section 10.
Phone and email
If you call or email us directly, we collect the information you choose to give us and use it in the same way.
If you prefer not to use our forms
Our forms are optional: you can also reach us by phone, email or mail, using the details under "Contact Us". The fields marked as required are needed to send a form; if you leave one out, the form cannot be sent.
If you become a customer
We also process your name, address, email address and other contact details when you request samples, place an order (together with the payment information needed to complete it), make a complaint, or give us a compliment.
3. Information Collected Automatically
On every visit
Like any website, our site and the service providers that deliver it automatically receive basic technical information with each page request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This includes our hosting provider and the file storage that delivers our images. We use this information to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems.
Our web fonts, and the map on our Contact page, are loaded from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser information when they load, whether or not you accept cookies. The map is provided by Google Maps and is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Visit statistics without cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., to count visits to our site. It records the page viewed, the page you came from, your browser, operating system and device type, your country and how quickly the page loaded, and shows them to us only as totals. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies or your browser's storage, and it does not "fingerprint" visitors from their IP address or browser details. Because it does not identify you, it runs for every visitor, whether or not you accept cookies.
Protecting our forms
To keep automated programs from sending our quote and job application forms, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check from Cloudflare, Inc. When a form loads, it looks at technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address and browser type, to confirm that a person is using it, usually without asking you to do anything. When you send the form, our website passes your IP address to Cloudflare to complete the check. On our site it does not set cookies. According to Cloudflare, it uses these signals only to detect and block automated programs and to improve that detection, not to identify you, build a profile of you or show you advertising.
To stop the same connection from sending a form, or a cookie choice, too many times in a short period, when you send a form or make a choice in our cookie banner we keep a scrambled one-way code made from your IP address and a secret key, never the address itself. We delete it automatically within 48 hours. These measures are needed to protect the site and our staff, so they apply whether or not you accept cookies.
Only with your consent
The analytics and advertising tools described below use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived at our site, your device and browser, your approximate location (city or region, worked out from your IP address), and actions such as scrolling, clicking links, downloading files, starting or sending our forms, and tapping our phone number or email address. They only store or read cookies on your device after you allow it in our cookie banner.
Before you choose, or if you decline
Until you accept Analytics or Marketing, our Google Analytics and Google Ads tag and Google Tag Manager do not load at all, so they send Google nothing and set no cookies. If you decline both, they stay off on every page you open. Once you accept one of them, the tag loads and uses Google Consent Mode, so cookies for a category you did not accept are still not stored or read; for that category Google may receive the limited signals without cookies described by Google (for example that a page was viewed), with your IP address and browser type. If you later turn both off, the tag stops loading from the next page you open.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Local storage is a similar space in your browser where a website can keep information. We group the cookies and storage our site uses into three categories, and only the first is on by default:
- Necessary: remembers your cookie choices, with a random ID that links them to our record of your choices (below). Always on.
- Analytics: Google Analytics cookies. Off until you accept.
- Marketing: Google Ads cookies, for conversion measurement and remarketing. Off until you accept.
Analytics and Marketing cookies let Google recognize your browser from one visit to the next, and Marketing cookies are used to build audiences for advertising. That is why both stay off until you turn them on, in our cookie banner or at any time in Cookie Settings. Section 3 explains when Google's tag loads.
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| jgw_cookie_consent* | JGW Machine | Necessary | Remembers your cookie choices and the random ID of our record of them | Until you change or clear it |
| _ga | Analytics | Distinguishes visitors | Up to 2 years | |
| _ga_<ID> | Analytics | Keeps track of your visit (session) | Up to 2 years | |
| _gcl_au | Marketing | Connects ad views and clicks to inquiries (conversion measurement) | 90 days | |
| _gcl_aw | Marketing | Remembers the Google ad you clicked to reach our site (set only if you arrive from a Google ad) | 90 days | |
| _gcl_ls* | Marketing | Keeps the same ad and conversion information as the _gcl cookies | 90 days | |
| IDE | Google (doubleclick.net) | Marketing | Used by Google to show and measure ads, including remarketing | Up to 2 years |
| test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Marketing | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies | 15 minutes |
| GCL_AW_P | Google (google.com, doubleclick.net, googleadservices.com) | Marketing | Google Ads click information kept on Google's own domains (set only if you arrive from a Google ad) | 90 days |
* Kept in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie. Our Google tags are told only whether each category is on or off.
Durations are the longest each item can last; your browser may shorten them. Cookies whose provider shows a Google domain are set on Google's own sites rather than ours. When Marketing is on, Google may also set or read other cookies on its domains; those are covered by Google's privacy policy. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our site works without analytics and marketing cookies.
Our record of your cookie choices
Each time you make or change a choice in our cookie banner, whether you accept or decline, your browser also sends that choice to our website, which keeps a record of it as proof of the consent you gave or refused. The record contains:
- A random ID created in your browser and kept there with your choice. It does not contain your name or any other detail about you, and it is not linked to Google's cookies.
- What you chose for Analytics and Marketing, and the button you used (Accept All, Reject All or Save Preferences)
- The date and time, the page you were on, and the versions of our cookie banner and of this policy at that time
- Your browser type and version, as your browser reports it
- A scrambled one-way code made from your IP address and a secret key, never the address itself
We use this record only to show what you agreed to or refused, and when, for example if you or a privacy regulator asks us. If you ask us about your record, the random ID kept in your browser lets us find it. The record is kept in our database (section 10), can be opened only by people signed in to our website's administration system, and is deleted automatically 12 months after each choice (section 12). Changing or withdrawing your consent adds a new record; it does not change the earlier ones.
5. Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager, a service of Google LLC, which loads only after you accept Analytics or Marketing (section 3). It lets us add or change small pieces of code ("tags") without rebuilding the site. As of the date of this policy it contains no tags: our Google Analytics and Google Ads tag is loaded directly by our site and follows your cookie choices as described in sections 3, 6 and 7. Any tag we add through Tag Manager will follow your cookie choices, and we will update this policy before adding a new tool. Tag Manager does not set cookies itself, but when it loads Google receives technical information, such as your IP address and browser type.
6. Google Analytics
With your consent to Analytics, we use Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. It records the pages you visit, how you arrived, your approximate location, your device and browser, and the actions described in section 3. We also record when a quote request or a job application is sent and when someone taps our phone number or email address, without any of the information you type.
We have turned off Google signals, so our Google Analytics data is not linked to Google accounts for cross-device reporting. According to Google, Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We keep detailed Google Analytics data for up to 14 months; after that, only aggregated reports remain.
Your choice: turn Analytics on or off at any time in . You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Google Ads
With your consent to Marketing, we use Google Ads, a service of Google LLC, for:
- Conversion measurement: seeing whether a visit that started from one of our Google ads led to a quote request or a tap on our phone number or email address, so we know which ads work.
- Remarketing: adding visitors to audience lists so that our ads can be shown to people who have visited our site, on Google Search, YouTube and websites that partner with Google.
When Marketing is on and you send one of our forms, Google's tag may also use a Google feature called enhanced conversions. It reads the email address and phone number you entered, turns them into a scrambled one-way code (a "hash") on your device, and sends only that code to Google, which uses it to match your inquiry to an ad you interacted with. When Marketing is off, this does not happen.
Your choice: turn Marketing on or off at any time in . You can manage the ads Google shows you at My Ad Center.
8. Meta (Facebook) Pixel
As of the date of this policy, our website does not use the Meta Pixel or any other Meta tracking tool. Our Facebook link is an ordinary link: nothing from Meta loads on our site unless you click it. If we add the Meta Pixel in the future, it will only run for visitors who accept Marketing, and we will update this policy before it does.
9. How We Use Your Information
- Respond to your inquiries, and prepare, send and follow up on quotes
- Assess job applications and contact applicants
- If you become a customer, supply our products and services and handle samples, orders, payments, complaints and compliments
- Protect our forms from spam and abuse (section 3)
- Keep a record of your cookie choices as proof of consent (section 4)
- Improve our website (Analytics, with your consent)
- Measure and improve our advertising, including remarketing (Marketing, with your consent)
- Keep our website secure and meet our legal obligations
Email marketing
This website does not send promotional emails and does not add you to a mailing list, and a reply to your inquiry is not marketing. If we send you promotional emails about our products and services, we do so only where Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) allows it: with your express consent, or with implied consent such as an existing business relationship (for example, for up to two years after a purchase, or six months after an inquiry). Every promotional email identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days. If you unsubscribe, we may keep your name and email address on a do-not-contact list so that we don't email you again.
10. Who We Share It With
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as described below.
Inside JGW Machine
Quote requests and job applications are seen by the people who handle inquiries and hiring for us, which can include people at our parent company, Tiercel Technology Corp. Everyone who has an account on our website's administration system can open both quote requests and job applications, including résumés, and the record of cookie choices.
Companies that run our website and email
- Our web agency (in Canada), which builds and maintains this website and manages the hosting, database, file storage and email delivery services below for us. Its staff have an account on our administration system and receive the notification emails, so they can see quote requests and job applications.
- Our hosting provider (United States) hosts the website and runs our forms and the record of your cookie choices.
- Our database provider (United States) stores quote requests, job applications, the record of your cookie choices and the coded IP addresses from our forms and cookie banner.
- Our file storage provider (United States) keeps résumés in private storage and delivers our site's images.
- Cloudflare (United States) provides the form security check and the visit statistics described in section 3.
- Our email delivery provider (France) sends the notification emails our website sends to the people who handle inquiries and hiring, and keeps copies of those emails.
- Our email provider runs our mailboxes, which receive those notification emails and any email you send us.
- Google (United States) provides our web fonts and the map on our Contact page for every visitor and, only with your consent, Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads (sections 5 to 7).
These companies handle your information to provide their services to us. Two of them also use some of it for their own purposes: Google, as described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and Cloudflare, to improve its detection of automated programs.
Others
- Our telephone and internet providers, which can see your phone number when we call you and your email address when we email you
- If you are a customer, payment providers and, if an invoice goes unpaid, a collection agency
- Courts, law enforcement or regulators, when the law requires it
11. Where Your Information Is Processed
Most of the companies in section 10 store or process information outside Canada:
- United States: our hosting provider runs our forms on servers in the Washington, D.C. area, and our database is kept in Oregon. Google and Cloudflare process information in the United States and in other countries where their networks operate.
- North America: our file storage provider keeps résumés and our site's images in its Eastern North America storage region.
- European Union: our email delivery provider stores the notification emails on servers in France and Belgium. According to that provider, its support teams in other countries, including the United States and India, may access its systems to maintain the service.
While your information is in another country, it is subject to that country's laws and may be accessed by its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
If you are in Quebec: we are based in Ontario, and the companies that run our website and email are all located outside Quebec, so the personal information you send us from Quebec is communicated outside Quebec.
12. How Long We Keep It
- Inquiries and quote requests: kept while we answer and follow up, then deleted automatically 12 months after we receive them. We keep a record of any quote we sent you, and if you become a customer, your details become part of our customer records.
- Coded IP addresses used to limit repeated form submissions and cookie choices: deleted automatically within 48 hours.
- Job applications and résumés: kept while we consider your application and for other openings, then deleted automatically 12 months after we receive them, whether or not you are hired. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
- Customer records: for as long as we do business together, and afterwards for as long as tax, accounting and other laws require.
- Google Analytics: detailed data for up to 14 months.
- Cookies: for the durations listed in section 4, unless you delete them sooner. When you withdraw consent in Cookie Settings, we remove the Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies and storage kept under our own domain (the ones whose names start with _ga and _gcl). Cookies that Google sets on its own domains cannot be removed by our site; you can delete them in your browser settings.
- Your cookie choices in your browser: until you change them or clear your browser's storage.
- Our record of your cookie choices (section 4), including the coded IP address it contains: deleted automatically 12 months after each choice.
The automatic deletion applies to what is stored on our website. The notification emails described in section 2 are kept in our mailboxes and by our email delivery provider, and the website does not delete them.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or make it anonymous. A deleted record can stay in our database provider's restore history for a short time (currently up to 6 hours) before it is gone for good.
13. Your Choices and Rights
Consent and how to withdraw it
Analytics and Marketing stay off until you turn them on. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in , which is also linked at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing does not affect information collected before, but stops further collection from that moment. Each change is added to our record of your cookie choices (section 4).
You can also withdraw your consent to our other uses of your information by contacting us, subject to legal and contractual limits. We will tell you if that affects what we can do for you, for example if we would no longer be able to answer your inquiry.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA, and for Quebec residents under Quebec law, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you, how we use it and who we have shared it with, and give you a copy
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete information we no longer need, or that we hold only because of consent you have withdrawn
- Quebec residents: stop spreading your personal information or de-index links to it, where Quebec law allows
- Quebec residents: receive computerized personal information you gave us in a structured, commonly used technological format, or have it sent to a person or organization that the law authorizes to collect it
Send your request in writing, by email or mail, to our Privacy Officer (see "Contact Us" below). We may need to confirm your identity first. We will reply within 30 days, and if we cannot do everything you ask, we will tell you why and what you can do about it. Visitors outside Canada, including in the United States, can make the same requests.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please write to our Privacy Officer first. We will look into it and tell you what we found and what we will do about it.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, if you live in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
14. Security
We protect the information you send through this website against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction with measures that include:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for every page and form
- A password sign-in to see quote requests, job applications and résumés, with an account locked for a while after repeated wrong passwords
- Private file storage for résumés, with no public web address, and résumés never attached to emails
- Only a coded version of your IP address kept, never the address itself: for the spam check, deleted within 48 hours, and in the record of your cookie choices, deleted after 12 months
- Automatic deletion of quote requests and job applications after 12 months (section 12)
No method of storing or sending information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. The main risk is that someone could get into one of the accounts or services that hold your information, for example with a stolen password. Your contact details, your message and, if you applied for a job, your résumé could then be exposed. This is one reason we ask you not to include sensitive information in your message.
15. Children's Privacy
Our website is meant for businesses and is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last Updated" date and a short note of what changed. If a change affects the analytics or advertising tools you have consented to, we will ask for your choice again through our cookie banner. If we want to use information you have already given us for a new purpose, we will ask for your consent first, unless the law allows or requires that use without it.
What changed on October 20, 2026: we now keep a record of each choice you make in our cookie banner, whether you accept or decline, as proof of consent. It holds a random ID kept in your browser, your choice, the date, the page, your browser type and a coded version of your IP address, and it is deleted after 12 months (sections 4 and 12).
What changed on October 16, 2026: quote requests and job applications are now deleted automatically 12 months after we receive them, and coded IP addresses within 48 hours. Google's analytics and advertising tag, and Google Tag Manager, now load only after you accept Analytics or Marketing. We also describe more precisely which companies process your information and where, who can see your request or application, and how to make a complaint.
17. Contact Us
For privacy questions, complaints, or to exercise your rights, write to our Privacy Officer. If you email us, please put "Privacy" in the subject line.
